QUE DOIS-JE MANGER POUR KAPHA DOSHA?

A Kapha-pacifying diet is crucial for keeping Kapha dosha balanced. Since Kapha is naturally cool and slow, it benefits from stimulating activities and foods to increase its energy. Cold, wet foods can exacerbate Kapha's heaviness. If you have a predominance of Kapha dosha, opt for foods that are warm, light, dry, and mildly spiced. Your meals should be fresh, well-cooked, tasty, pleasing, and satisfying.

Eat regularly at proper times—morning, noon, and evening. Ensure you eat the right amount at each meal, avoiding both overeating and undereating. Snack only when necessary and in moderation, ensuring it doesn't diminish your hunger for the next meal. Eat in a quiet, relaxing environment.

FOODS THAT BENEFIT THE KAPHA DOSHA

1. Fruits: apples, apricots, berries, cherries, lemons, peaches, pears, limes, prunes, raisins.

2. Vegetables: artichoke, asparagus, beet, bell peppers, bitter melon, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, carrot, celery, chilies, onions, garlic, peas, potato, okra, horseradish.

3. Grains: corn, buckwheat, amaranth, oats, quinoa, wild rice, tapioca, wheat bran.

4. Legumes: black beans, navy beans, lentils, pulses.

7. Chicken, fish, eggs, shrimp.

8. Spices: ajwain, basil, cloves, pepper, turmeric, coriander, mint, nutmeg, oregano.

9. Favor light and airy foods over dense and heavy ones to counteract Kapha's heaviness.

10. Prefer warm, well-cooked, light meals over cold and heavy ones.

11. Kapha is balanced by pungent, bitter, and astringent tastes and aggravated by sweet, sour, and salty tastes. Understanding these taste profiles can help you make better dietary choices even without an extensive list of Kapha-balancing foods.
